As a resident of Island County, IBA welcomes your participation in the enjoyment of our shorelines as well as in the process of expanding our knowledge of these resources and any problems associated with maintaining our legal public property rights. It's an investment in everyone's future.

We hear a lot about private property rights, but (especially along our shorelines) not so much about our public property rights.

IBA intends to change that – encouraging an appropriate balance of public and private rights and interests based solidly on precise interpretations of the laws and regulations on the books and legal agreements describing correct applications of those laws and regulations.

The effectiveness of IBA depends on the participation of the at-large public in pursuing its own legal rights and interests in this area. We invite you to join us!
